On September 15, 1887, the tracks of the Wisconsin Valley Division of the Chicago, Milwaukee & St. Paul Railroad, then in the process of extension from Merrill to Minocqua, reached Tomahawk, and on October 8, 1887 the first train came over these rails.  The rest as they say, is history.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
